From Cape to Cape

Matt and I just returned to Cape Cod from a 10 day visit to our new home in Cape Coral. It was the first time we stepped foot in the house since purchasing it in May and leasing it back to the sellers for three months.

What a wonderful 10 days we had! August in Florida is pretty hot and muggy, but just about every evening there were showers which cooled and cleaned the air so that we could take our evening walks around the neighborhood. The home itself has much more technology than we are used to, so we are learning about Nest thermometers and Moen ioDigital Vertical Spa showers as well as the ins and outs of pool maintenance and lawn irrigation. Thankfully, we have a team of people (several teams actually) handling pest control, landscaping, pool maintenance, etc. so that the home is well taken care of whether we are there or not. Wish we could be there more….It is …. Bliss!

Exploring our property, we find that we have a lime tree and the limes are delicious. I’ll have to find some ways to use them. Hmmm. I wonder if I can make key lime pie with fresh limes? We also have several Bird of Paradise (are they considered bushes?) and they were in full bloom. What interesting flowers they have.

We had such fun shopping for new towels and all the little essentials that will make this vacation house special for our future guests. We have been renting vacation houses in Cape Coral for 10-14 days at a time for the last five years. We are always pleasantly surprised when we find in a vacation house many of the supplies we have at home. We don’t expect things like a supply of paper towels and napkins and salt and pepper and Kleenex, but it sure is nice when at least a small quantity is there. We have gone a step further and will have a little sewing kit, beach chairs, umbrella and a cooler for outings, plastic drinking glasses for around the pool area, tin foil, plastic wrap and baggies, and much more. On our next visit, we plan to purchase a couple of kayaks. The Eternity Canal is perfect for tooling around in kayaks. The Spreader Canal with its vast mangroves is a very short distance away. Our property manager will also assist in renting a boat that can be parked? on our boat lift.

We are excited to be the owners of this luxury vacation villa on the Eternity Canal in Cape Coral, Florida. We are calling it Bliss On Eternity.
