Farewell to Bliss . . . . .

We are quickly approaching the end of our four month stay in paradise (aka Bliss on Eternity in Cape Coral, Florida). During our stay we were able to combine work, fun and relaxation into a satisfying mix.

For “work” we scrubbed and cleaned the house and lanai, replaced the stove, microwave oven, washer and dryer. We painted, planted and repaired. We kept Busy!

For fun, we hosted family and went to interesting places like the Naples Zoo, Ford & Edison Winter Estates, IMAG History and Science Center, Sanibel, Captiva, Pine Island, Rotary Park, various beaches and playgrounds.

In addition to our favorite area restaurants, we discovered new favorites like, High Tide Social House (near the Westin) and Tarpon Lodge (on Pine Island). Of course the walkable J&P Fusion and Lobster Lady and Prime 239 as well as Rum Runners and Fathoms deserve mention as favorite Must Visit restaurants whenever we stay in our home.

From our coffee in the morning to looking at the moon and stars well into the night, our lanai has been a favorite place to hang out. Relaxing on our lounge chairs or floating in our infinity pool has been heaven on earth.

We will miss the quiet neighborhood and our nightly walks. We will miss the huge variety of restaurants, many of which we can walk to. We will miss waking up to sunshine and planning our day.

We will miss the Bliss.

……….Until we can return in eight months.

Winter of 2020

New Year, New Decade. Happy New Year to all who are reading this message.

We have just completed our first full year of owning Bliss on Eternity. We were able to visit our luxury vacation rental home in Cape Coral a total of three times in 2019. Being able to float around in our pool and take the kayaks out to explore the canals was wonderful each time we visited (February, September and December). We had lots of fun upgrading the bedding and adding some new dishes and little touches here and there.

If you are looking for a luxurious, relaxing, stress-free vacation, please consider a stay at Bliss on Eternity. Send me an email for a special rate. Best discounts are for three weeks or more. Linda@bliss-on-eternity.com

Time Flies

It has been almost a year since we moved into our vacation rental Bliss on Eternity and worked on getting it ready to be rented out as a luxury vacation rental. We continue to update, improve and add items to make our tenants enjoy their vacations. We understand that there are a lot of vacation house choices in Cape Coral and are looking to make ours stand out. If you have any suggestions or questions, please contact me at Linda@Bliss-on-Eternity.com.

Here is just one review that was left in our guest book:

Fruit Cocktail Tree?

The weirdest thing! We have a tree here in Florida with limes growing on it. A lime tree, right? Well I picked a fruit the size of a grapefruit off the same tree and it looks and tastes just like a pink grapefruit. I asked my fellow Master Gardeners on Cape Cod in Massachusetts if there is such a tree that grows limes and grapefruit on the same tree. YES, there is. It is called a Fruit Cocktail tree and it is a grafted tree with several citrus fruits on the same tree. What Fun!

From Cape to Cape

Matt and I just returned to Cape Cod from a 10 day visit to our new home in Cape Coral. It was the first time we stepped foot in the house since purchasing it in May and leasing it back to the sellers for three months.

What a wonderful 10 days we had! August in Florida is pretty hot and muggy, but just about every evening there were showers which cooled and cleaned the air so that we could take our evening walks around the neighborhood. The home itself has much more technology than we are used to, so we are learning about Nest thermometers and Moen ioDigital Vertical Spa showers as well as the ins and outs of pool maintenance and lawn irrigation. Thankfully, we have a team of people (several teams actually) handling pest control, landscaping, pool maintenance, etc. so that the home is well taken care of whether we are there or not. Wish we could be there more….It is …. Bliss!

Exploring our property, we find that we have a lime tree and the limes are delicious. I’ll have to find some ways to use them. Hmmm. I wonder if I can make key lime pie with fresh limes? We also have several Bird of Paradise (are they considered bushes?) and they were in full bloom. What interesting flowers they have.

We had such fun shopping for new towels and all the little essentials that will make this vacation house special for our future guests. We have been renting vacation houses in Cape Coral for 10-14 days at a time for the last five years. We are always pleasantly surprised when we find in a vacation house many of the supplies we have at home. We don’t expect things like a supply of paper towels and napkins and salt and pepper and Kleenex, but it sure is nice when at least a small quantity is there. We have gone a step further and will have a little sewing kit, beach chairs, umbrella and a cooler for outings, plastic drinking glasses for around the pool area, tin foil, plastic wrap and baggies, and much more. On our next visit, we plan to purchase a couple of kayaks. The Eternity Canal is perfect for tooling around in kayaks. The Spreader Canal with its vast mangroves is a very short distance away. Our property manager will also assist in renting a boat that can be parked? on our boat lift.

We are excited to be the owners of this luxury vacation villa on the Eternity Canal in Cape Coral, Florida. We are calling it Bliss On Eternity.

Hello Vacationer!

We have just purchased a beautiful vacation home that we want to share with you. We take possession of the property in mid-August and will be renting it out to short and long term vacationers until we are able to move into the home on a more permanent basis in a few years. We will add our comments and updates (and lots of pictures) soon.
